1.     Click on “Services and Information” in the Menu bar in the upper right corner.

2.     Select the “Utilities” hyperlink (white box near bottom). 

3.     Scroll down and click on “Accounts and Billing” box (under the “Filter Services” section at left).

a)     At right, click on “Move, Open, or Close a City Light Account”

b)    At right, click on “Move, Open, or Close Your Utility Account”

4.     From these respective pages, you can manage your accounts online or contact a representative.

Please gather the following information before you open your account:

  • Your account number.

  • The effective date (closing date) for services to cease.

  • water meter and electricity reading (see instructions HERE if you do not have an advanced/digital meter). You will pay a fee if the City has to come read the meter.

  • The name of the buyer of your property.

  • Your forwarding address.

ELECTRICITY

Seattle City Light provides electricity to Seattle-area residents. 

Please gather the following information before you open your account:

1.     The effective date (closing date for your purchase) for services to start.

2.    An electric meter reading (see instructions HERE if you do not have an advanced/digital meter). 

CABLE & PHONE

Contact your cable and phone provider (if you have a land line) as applicable.  

OIL

If you use oil, contact your service provider and alert them of your move date and that you’re closing your account and any existing maintenance contracts and auto-refill subscriptions. 

GAS

Seattle-area natural gas services provided by Puget Sound Energy
